(Welcome)
David Robert Boxley is the son of world-renowned carver and culture bearer, David Albert Boxley. At six years old, David Robert began carving under the instruction of his father. Around this same time he also began to travel around the United States to assist his father in raising totem poles and teaching people about Tsimshian culture. From a very young age David Robert was passionate and proud of his culture. As an adult, the love and respect he has for his culture is expressed through both his two-dimensional and three-dimensional art.

David Roberts work can found in the private collections of Maya Angelou and Johnny Miller and museums like the Eiteljorg Museum in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he won the purchace award at the 13th Annual Eiteljorg Museum Indian Market in June 2005.
David Robert does work by private commission and through some of the major galleries on the coast. He recently had his first solo show at the Quintana Galleries, The Fire is Lit, which ran April 6-29, 2006. Also look for him in the May/June2006 issue of Native Peoples Magazine.
